BLS for Healthcare Provider

Course Description
The BLS Healthcare Provider Course is designed to provide a wide variety of healthcare professionals the ability to recognize life-threatening emergencies, provide CPR, use an AED, and relieve choking in a safe, timely and effective manner. The course is intended for certified or noncertified, licensed or nonlicensed healthcare professionals.

Intended Audience
Healthcare providers such as physicians, nurses, paramedics, emergency medical technicians, respiratory therapists, physical and occupational therapists, physician's assistants, residents or fellows, or medical or nursing students in training, aides, medical or nursing assistants, police officers, and other allied health personnel.

COST: 45.00 per person, not including manual

Adult/Pediatric CPR

Course Description
The Heartsaver CPR course teaches lay rescuers how to recognize and treat life threatening emergencies, including cardiac arrest and choking for adult, child, and infant victims. Students also learn to recognize the warning signs of heart attack along with AED Training.

Intended Audience

For those who have a duty to respond to a cardiac emergency because of job responsibilities or regulatory requirements.
Anyone who wants to learn more about the topic.

Cost: $30.00 per person, not including manual.

Basic First Aid

Course Description
The Heartsaver First Aid Course teaches how to manage illness and injuries in the first few minutes until professional help arrives. Course content includes General Principles, Medical Emergencies, and Injury Emergencies.

Intended Audience

For those who have a duty to respond to a first aid emergency because of job responsibilities or regulatory requirements.
Anyone who wants to learn more about the topic.

Cost: $25.00, not including manual.

Communicable Disease
"Signs of Illness w/ Bloodborne Pathogens"

Course Description
Prevention and Control of Communicable Diseases in the Childcare setting. Includes Signs of Illness and Bloodborne Pathogens.

Intended Audience
Childcare workers in the State of Nevada are required to take a class in the prevention and control of communicable diseases in the child care setting that is approved by the Nevada Registry within 90 days from their hire date per the Department of Social Services Regulations for Child Care Facilities. Childcare workers must repeat the class every 3 years.

Cost: $20.00 per person

Sudden Infant Death Syndrome (SIDS)

Course Description
This course teaches students the definition of Sudden Infant Death Syndrome. It discusses techniques to prevent Sudden Infant Death Syndrome and risk factors involved.

Intended Audience
Employees in the field of Childcare as it is a requirement per Social Services.
Any parents that want to learn more about Prevention and Risks Factors.

Child Abuse and Neglect

Course Description
This course is designed to increase knowledge of the four different types of abuse, how to recognize abuse, and how and when to report.

Intended Audience
Primarily child care providers although others may benifit from the material presented (eg. parents, foster parents, and human service professionals)
